COLLEGES I HAVE VISITED

While on-campus visits give students valuable information about specific colleges, the same is true for college counselors. Staying up to speed on the ever-changing world of higher education takes constant continuing education. To that extent I have visited over 125 colleges and universities since 2015, and I seek to visit 10 or more each year.

I will regularly tour 10-15 colleges a year either in person or virtually. I pride myself of staying apprised of updates and changes to applications, testing policies and I love the chance to sit down one on one with an admissions counselor to hear about new and exciting programs of study or new initiatives that have just been announced.

During any given year I may attend a College counseling conference where I continually hone best practices for my business, as well as learn the latest technologies to help my students succeed in their college admissions journey. The host cities of these conferences allow me access to visit the surrounding area universities. Regularly, college admissions officers will be in attendance at the conference to update the members of the unique aspects of their institutions and provide us enrollment statistics that allow us to help our students an families create the best fit college list. Being a member of 5 college counseling organizations; HECA (Higher Education Consultants Association), IECA (Independent Educational Consultants Association), College Consultants of Colorado, WACAC (Western Association of College Admission Counselors), RMACAC (Rocky Mountain Association of College Admissions Counselors) allows me access to a vast network of consultants around the country who generously share insights on colleges they are most familiar with, allowing me to crowdsource the best and most recent information for my students and families on the college admission process.
